A+P AT HOME: EDUCATIONAL WALKTHROUGH FOR GRADES 3-5

Join Joshua Oduga, A+P’s Public Programs and Exhibitions Manager, and Nereya Otieno, A+P’s former Communications Coordinator and Programs Assistant, for a virtual tour of Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection, targeted at youth in grades 3-5 and their parents and educators. The program will open with a short presentation about the educational resources A+P offers. This will be followed by a virtual walkthrough of the exhibition utilizing the Teacher Resource Guides A+P provides to educators. Joshua and Nereya will outline thematic elements of the exhibition that the age group may be interested in as well as highlight activities attendees can do at home to expand upon the themes and mediums explored in the art.

This program will be taking place virtually via RingCentral. This means that anyone interested in attending this program from anywhere in the world is welcome, all you need is an internet connection! This program is organized on the occasion of Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection on view at Art + Practice through January 2, 2021. Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection is presented by Art + Practice in collaboration with the Hammer Museum and organized by their Associate Curator Erin Christovale.

Speakers

Joshua Oduga is the Public Programs and Exhibitions Manager at A+P. He has over a decade of expertise working directly with artists, communities, and artistic organizations. Much of his work during this time has focused on bridging the gap between groups of artists and the communities they work in, always working towards the free exchange of resources and ideas. In addition to working at A+P, Joshua continues to work as an independent curator and musician, focusing on emerging technologies and collaboration in artistic practices.

Nereya Otieno was the Communications Coordinator and Programs Assistant for Art + Practice. She has a history studying intercultural spaces and the ways in which music, food, and the arts are forms of storytelling that define identities and create communities. In addition to working at A+P, Nereya writes for numerous publications and serves on the board for Future Female Sounds, an organization committed to making DJing accessible to women all over the world.
