Public Programs

Public programs include free artist talks, panels, short film screenings, workshops, author talks, and exhibition walkthroughs. Programs are organized to coincide with the museum-curated exhibitions on view at Art + Practice.

Introducing Bookmarked!, a new series from A+P highlighting literary artists of LA. In Bookmarked!, organizations and artists around the city will let us in on books and texts that inspire them. For the first installment, Asha Grant, founder of The Free Black Woman’s Library-LA, will speak with South Los Angeles poet and professor bridgette bianca about her debut book of poetry, be/trouble. Asha and bridgette will be discussing bridgette’s process of writing poetry as well as reading excerpts from bridgette’s recently released collection of poems.

This program will be taking place virtually via RingCentral, powered by Zoom. This means that anyone interested in attending this program from anywhere in the world is welcome, all you need is an internet connection! Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection is presented by Art + Practice in collaboration with the Hammer Museum and organized by their Associate Curator Erin Christovale.
