Public programs include individual artist talks, panels, short film screenings, and exhibition walkthroughs. Programs are organized to coincide with museum-curated exhibitions on view at Art + Practice.
Join A+P for a peak into the world of Amanda Ross-Ho, a multimedia artist who works with putting together places, objects and languages that seem to not go together. Her work causes viewers to challenge what we assume about artifacts, spaces and size. Ross-Ho will talk through her process and how her own life informs her chosen techniques and work. There will be a short question and answer session following her talk discussion.
The Free Black Women’s Library Los Angeles will be present before the program (from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.) offering access to a selection of books their founder has chosen to complement A+P’s exhibition and tonight’s event. The books will be available to be viewed and anyone can bring a book written by a Black woman to swap for a book in the library.
This program is organized on the occasion of Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection on view at Art + Practice through August 1, 2020. Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection is presented by Art + Practice in collaboration with the Hammer Museum and organized by their Associate Curator Erin Christovale.
